administration, scripting, software design, education, technical
support.

I work in Canberra for OzLabs, part of
IBM's global
Linux Technology
Center and also part of IBM's Australia Development
Laboratory.
-
I used to work as a Big Cool Guy.
Computing interests
-
My day-to-day work revolves around the
Linux
operating system. I'm interested in networking, security, web
stuff... I've got some simple Linux
hacks.
-
I use
Emacs a
lot, and I've worked on some Emacs lisp hacks.
-
I've published a few things - some
are Linux-related, some are related to the research below.
-
I've spent some time doing research
on formal software construction techniques that promote design
reuse.
Music
-
I play guitar and sing. Sometimes I play harmonica. Occasionally
I hack around on piano. I write songs and have recorded a few
demos.
-
I was a member of The Taken.
-
I review albums in my
music collection. I'm also hoping to go back and review some of
the more memorable concerts I've been to.
-
My frustration with MIDI sequencing packages has led to this
idea for a MIDI sequencer. However,
since I now play in a band it hasn't been used or worked on by me
in a long time.
