jedda speaks!

on the weekend we went to sydney in the car to calli's house. calli and tia played all the time and sometimes i had to tell them to slow down because they were making me tired! in fact, we were so tired that we slept in a lot one day. tia was good and only threw up once in the car and martin caught it in a bag so i didn't have to lie in it. one day we also went to see the grandparents that don't have a dog and we got to snooze in front of their heater - that was nice.

things have been very busy and mel has been off playing with lots of other dogs. sometimes it makes me wonder if she really does love us, but then she will give me a big cuddle and lots of treats and i remember just how much she does love me!

i haven't really had a lot of time lately - i have been very busy snoozing and watching tia dig up the drippers. we have also been playing a lot - we play chasings and we wrestle. it's a lot of fun!

martin went away for a while - boy it was good when he came home. tia was so excited to see him that she wee-ed everywhere! good thing we were outside otherwise she would have been in big trouble!

tia sleeps in my room now. on the first night, i slept on her bed - just so she remembered who the boss is. she wakes up very early and wants to go outside and sometimes i just want to stay inside and snooze! but i go out when mel or martin asks me to, 'cos then tia and i can play.

i have been very brave lately and have met some new people and haven't been barking at the dogs we see on our walks. mel tells me that this is very good and i usually get lots of treats if i don't bark.

i also wanted to mention that tia and i passed level 2 at training. i wonder if we will ever go back to training. i think mel and martin are too tired, so we just play hall ball instead!

we have been playing lots of frisbee lately - i love it - it is my very favourite game! now, when mel and martin chase tia, i chase her too and i can catch her more often than they can! i spent some time in my bush on the weekend - firstly there were some people i had never met at our house and that made me nervous. and also martin and mel did lots of loud work in the garden and it hurt my ears, so i only came out when the noise stopped! there have been lots of dogs out when we go walking, i have met some, but mostly i just tell them to back off! martin says no-one will be my friend if i do that all the time. apart from that, not much has happened - life is good as usual!

a lot of things have happened lately. first of all, we went to sydney and santa dog came and he brought me some good presents! tia got some too, but she has destroyed some of hers already. the best present i got was a squeaky ball - it is my favourite toy, apart from schnappy - and i like to play with it all the time! in sydney we stayed at calli's house and she and tia played all the time. at the end tia got very tired but calli still wanted to play, so i had to tell calli that she should let tia have a sleep. after we came home again, there were a lot of thunderstorms, but i wasn't too worried as mel and martin played a lot of squeaky ball with me - i don't have to bark at the thunder if we are playing squeaky ball! tia is scared of the thunder, but she just sits there and does nothing!

also, one day we went out walking and we found a kangaroo. mel and martin were very worried because it was quite late in the morning and they thought it might get lost or hurt. so tia and i barked at it and told it to go home. then we followed it up the road a bit, but martin told us we should just go slowly and let the kangaroo go ahead of us. man, that was no fun at all.

and now tia is allowed in all of the house, except for the rooms where the doors are shut. she used to be allowed in my room, but she tried to chew up the carpet and a book, so now she is not allowed in there, but last night, instead of going to her bed, she tried to come into my bed. i had to tell her to go away, because schnappy was already in my bed and there was no room for her too!

i also got a new frisbee from santa dog and now mel and martin play frisbee with us every afternoon - i am good at catching the frisbee and also at knocking it down so tia can fetch it - mel says it is nice to share, but i only do that when i am tired and don't feel like fetching it to mel or martin - tia makes a good frisbee fetcher for me! she also fetches the ball to mel and martin for me too.

mel and martin stayed home with us for a while, that was kind of nice, but i also like the routine where they go out in the morning and tia and i can do whatever we want at home! but i do like it when they are home, because then i can spend the day sleeping inside where it is cooler!

tia went away the other day and then she came home and she smelled like the vets and then mel stayed at home with us for a long time and tia and i were not allowed to play for all that time. then i saw that tia had a scar on her tummy and mel said it is just like mine. hmmm i wonder if that makes us twins? tia also wasn't allowed to walk, but i still got to go, that made me a bit sad, because i like it when we all go together. we met that silly woman and her dog again, i barked at them a lot but the woman didn't take the dog away... i don't like them very much - i hope we don't see them again.

mel says that santa dog will come soon, but only if we are good - i guess that means that i get a lot of presents and tia gets none, because tia has been digging up the drippers and jumping onto the veggie garden and sitting on the lettuce - mel was very cross when she did that.

and guess what - tia taught mel and martin a new trick and now they do it with me too - it is called high 5 - i only like to do it sometimes though - tia does it all the time! tia was very clever at training a couple of weeks ago - she won the trick off by doing the high 5 and rolling over, but she didn't have much competition. she got a ribbon! i can roll over too, but only when i am hot and tired and feel like rolling in the grass, and sometimes when tia and i play... i certainly wouldn't do it in front of all those other dogs - they might see my belly!

oh, and i've helped tia set up her blog! i guess she's staying for a while...

i have been so very busy lately and there has been lots happening. on sundays i now go to a place called training - i didn't like it much at first, but now i really, really love it. i am good at training and usually do all the things that martin asks me to do. although i get a bit nervous because there are lots of other dogs there, so i have to do a lot of barking to tell them who i am and not to come to close to me or else! tia sometimes comes to, but she and mel sit in a different group and i have to check on them occasionally during my class to make sure they are ok... also i have been showing tia how to dig holes, we have now got about four lovely holes in the backyard, one of them is perfectly tia sized - but don't tell anyone, i don't think they have noticed. sometimes when we play, i push tia into the hole! it can be a bit dangerous when i am chasing the frisbee though - thank goodness mel and martin remind me to watch out for the holes when we play! i also got a new schnappy, but he doesn't have a whole tail because tia chewed the end off. and tia has been allowed in the lounge room sometimes - she likes that, but other times when she jumps the barrier and jumps onto the bed, then she has to go outside straight away. she doesn't like that very much! there are some new residents in our street, a border collie where the spotty dog used to live and a dog that looks like thali on the other side. that dog was outside of its yard without a human this morning... we also catch up with my friend on the corner regularly - he seems to like tia more than me, so sometimes i yell at him when we see him so he remembers i am there! and the other day when mel and i were out walking together, there was a funny looking black and grey dog that ran across a road to come see us. mel said that dog's owner was very naughty because she let the dog out before putting the lead on it. then she couldn't catch it and chased it in circles around mel and i. we didn't like that much and finally mel caught the dog and the owner put its lead on and left and then mel said a rude word and i agreed with her!

wow - it has been a long time since i have updated my blog. i have been so busy looking after tia and it seems like someone is always at home and i don't get the chance to get onto the computer! a lot of things have happened. tia is still here - now she comes for a walk with us in the mornings, but she doesn't come all the way, some days, it is martin and i and mel takes tia, and other days it is mel and i and martin takes tia - but we always meet up just before we get to our street, which is good, because i miss her when she is not around.

also, on the weekend, calli came to visit us. she and tia played a lot, but it made me tired just watching them, so i only joined in occassionally.

a little while ago i got a new schnappy toy, mel told me to play with it in the lounge room where tia couldn't get it, so i did but that got boring and i wanted to share it with tia. but then we decided to play tug-o-war with it, and he broke in half - i was very sad and now i only have half a schnappy in my bedroom - it isn't much fun to play with... mel says that she will try and find me another one soon! i hope i get a new schnappy soon - i love him!!

guess what? i have a new little sister! her name is tia and she came to live with us last week. mel and martin pay a lot of attention to her, but that is because she is a bit naughty and doesn't know the rules yet. i think that i like her - we play some cool games, like chasing and wrestling and tug-of-war. but sometimes she wants to play too much, so that i have to tell her that i am the old, mature dog now, and i can't be playing all the time, as i still have to look after the house and yard as well as get my beauty sleep! she doesn't walk with us, and now it is only me and mel or me and martin. mel told me that it is only until tia has her next needle, otherwise she might get sick. i wonder how long that will be. she is also very little, mel says that i used to be that little once, but i am not sure i believe her...

i have been sad and i haven't really felt like updating my blog, but it is probably time that i did. thali is gone. some people came to our house and then i went outside and then when i came back in, thali was on mel's lap and she wasn't doing anything. then those people came back and they wrapped her in a blanket and took her away. i think that she has gone to be with smudge. it makes me sad that she is not here with me any more - i get very lonely, and it is very exciting when mel and martin finally come home! i wonder if thali was lonely like this before i came to live with her. mel says that i can have a little sister soon - i hope so, because i am worried about mel and martin when we go out for walks - one of them always has to walk alone and that is not good! speaking of walks - this morning i saw a kangaroo - it was cool!

i am all by myself today, thali is gone and she didn't get any breakfast. mel told me that she will pick thali up and bring her home this afternoon - that is a good thing, because i miss her when she is not there. this morning on our walk, it was very exciting, we went earlier than usual, and we saw a dog and lots of kangaroos and then more dogs, and i tried to warn them about the kangaroos, but martin got cross with me... on the weekend, thali and i had to have baths because anton came to dinner - that was really not fair, no matter how much thali loves anton, i would rather not have a bath. it makes me smell funny and i had to try and lick all the smell off me after the bath, it won't go away though. and anton did come for dinner and he brought jeremy with him. i wasn't too sure at first, but after a while, i decided that they were ok and i let anton pat me for a while. thali has been throwing up a lot lately, and mel and martin make her sleep in the bathroom. i miss her sometimes at night. also, recently it was very cold in our house, and that means i need to go outside more in the middle of the night. mel and martin weren't very happy about it all, but the house is much warmer now - thank goodness, i don't like the cold very much!

now that i am four, time seems to go so very quickly. it has been a month since i wrote anything here and so much has happened. i have a new friend called phoebe - thali and i see her when we are out walking sometimes and, this morning, she was across the road and thali decided to go say hello and her lead broke and she went across the road by herself! that was quite amazing - i had to cross with mel, and then i did a lot of barking.

oh, i forgot to mention - there has been all sorts of stuff going on next door. there are lots of people there and they are banging things and pulling stuff down and putting stuff up, and sometimes there are big loud machiney things that are a bit scary... i bark at them when i can, but most of the time they ignore me, so i don't bother much any more.

and i think that i should tell you that this morning on our walk, i saw one of those big hoppy things - i like them, i wish i could chase one someday!

wow - it has been more than two months since I have had time to update my blog! so much stuff has happened. first martin went away, then mel went away, then martin went away again. the second time martin went away, mel, thali and i spent lots of girl time together, but mel wasn't feeling very well, so we didn't do very much! after all that happened, we all went away - we went to sydney to smudges house, only smudge wan't there - calli was. she is bigger now and not quite as much of a chicken, so we ran around a played a bit. in fact she is bigger than thali - i'll bet that soon she will be as big as me and then we can have some real fun! we played some chasings and then calli was jumping at me so i had to show her my teeth to let her know that i didn't like that very much! apart from that, martin and mel have been really busy and we don't see them much. although, martin did bring us some presents when he got back the second time. thali was also sick for a little while, but she is much better now, she says that she just missed martin and that is why she was sick. she is eating most of her meals now, so i don't get to eat many leftovers these days. that means i have to eat more of the yummy stuff i find when we go out walking in the mornings - martin and mel don't like that though!

well, that puppy called calli came. she looked an awful lot like a pussy cat at first... i barked at her a lot - there were a lot of rules to tell her - she was silly - she ran away when i was telling her the rules. we took her for a walk around our neighbourhood, but after that she tried to lie in thali's spot inside and thali didn't like that, so we yelled at her for a while. anyway, the porridge grandparents took her away again.

thali went away again last week and she hasn't really been very hungry since the weekend, so i get to eat some of her leftovers... i hope she feels better soon. when mel left this morning, thali thought that she was going with her and went out the front door with mel. but mel and martin both yelled at thali and told her to go back inside. thali told me that it wasn't fair, that today she was supposed to go and see her friends at the vets. but mel said, that even though the vets really like her, she doesn't have to go see them this week, but she does have to go again next week.

today mel took thali away, so i am a bit sad. but she said she would bring her home this afternoon...

but guess what - today i saw 3 cats - watch out cats - i can spot you from a long way away and soon i will learn to hunt you without my tags jangling and my ears moving and without my lead and then you are in big trouble...

this morning i met my friend while we were out walking again - guess what, he doesn't have to walk on a lead, but his sister does... that is a bit weird. i was so excited to see him and he talked to thali and i and then we said hello to his sister. and then, we saw them again! twice in one day!! last week when we were walking, i almost caught a pussy cat, it was so close i could almost taste it - mmmm, pussy cats sure do taste nice! i have been looking out for slow cats to catch while we walk... i am sure that one day i will catch one - it is really just a matter of time - especially now that i am loosing weight - i am getting much faster!

thali wasn't feeling very well on saturday, she hasn't been gone for a whole day for a while now - mel took her away for a short time this morning and a short time last week, but i haven't had to stay by myself for a whole day for a while - that is good - i don't really like being by myself...

mel says we are having a visitor this weekend, but that she is just a little puppy called calli and she is coming with the porridge grandparents. and she might be scared and we shouldn't bark at her and that we should be friends with her, like we were friends with smudge. hmmm - i am not really sure about this - i think i will bark at her to let her know that thali and i are in charge, and to tell her the rules of our games and then we can run around and play. i wonder if she will look like me - mel says that i am still a puppy.

oh, i almost forgot - it was my birthday last week and i turned four. i got some treats on my breakfast and on my dinner and martin sang a birthday song to me. it was kind of cool - i wonder what four is?

wow - there has been so much going on. first of all, lots of people came to our house - a few of them talked kind of funny - i don't really like people, so i stayed right away from them. at one point i hid in one of the bushes, but not in my usual nest, a different one, just in case they come back and try and find me later! i sure was glad when mel took thali and i inside and we got to go to bed. thali said it wasn't fair because she liked playing ball with all the people and they all thought she was cute, so she wanted to stay outside with them.

on saturday, someone came to our house. he has come before, but i wasn't sure i remembered him. he lay down on the mat, and after he got up, i had a really good smell of it to figure out who he was, and now i remember and he is ok, but he talks kind of funny too! he pats me a lot and he has been coming on our walks with us, and this morning, he got really excited and started jumping around and running just before our walk - that was a bit scary.

last night, it was just me and thali and mel for a while - that was cool - we haven't had much girl time lately. i like it when we have girl time. i had the most amazing dream last night during girl time - i can't really remember it, but i was chasing something and i was running really fast. also, mel took thali away yesterday morning, and i thought that i would be alone all day, but she came back after a while and brought thali with her. i was so happy that thali was back that i ran around the yard and barked until she got out the back with me!

martin went away last week, but on he came home on saturday - it was so good to see him. a lot of things happened while he was away, thali went away on wednesday and i had to spend the whole day by myself. when mel brought her home, thali was a bit sad and said she didn't feel very well, and mel paid her lots of attention. mel spent a lot of time at home with us - we just hung out and watched tv and slept and we even helped mel do a puzzle - i am good at doing the puzzles because of my big feet, i can walk all over it really quickly, but mel says that is not how we are supposed to be doing it. also we went for our walks. on one walk, thali decided that she didn't want to go any further, so she told me she would lie down and see if mel would carry her home. and guess what - mel did carry her - it was really funny and i think mel appreciated the help i gave her by jumping up and down next to her as she carried thali. she didn't carry her all the way home though - so next time thali says she is going to do something i will bet her a chew stick that she is wrong!

on thursday, something really exciting happened. i met my friend while we were out walking. and we got to say hello without the fence there. i really like him, he is a pretty red colour and he smells good too! he said hello to thali and i and then he had to go inside with his human. i wish he could have stayed and played with me for a while.

also while martin was away, i got to sleep with mel and thali - well, thali had to sleep in the bathroom, and mel got to sleep on her bed, but she took my cushion into her room and i slept there - but sometimes I slept on the floor too. thali wasn't very happy that i was allowed to sleep on the floor. she wanted to sleep on the bed with mel, but mel said no! which was kind of cool, because it meant that i was better than thali. but i am not really, thali has been picking on me a bit lately and telling me that since she is feeling better that she is back in charge. i guess we will just see about that!

last night thali and i had a fight. martin gave me a chew stick and thali decided that she wanted it and i didn't deserve it. so i fought her for it... then mel came and told us to stop fighting, so i quickly ate it before thali could get it. after that i was a bit sad. i don't like to fight with thali - but she really has to learn to not mess with my food - especially since mel said i have to be on a diet and martin said i am getting a jelly belly...

and then this morning, mel took thali away - i thought she would be gone all day again, but she came back after a very short while. so now i am very happy because we have made up and we can run around and bark and play all day - especially if it rains later - we can get really wet - mel loves it when we do that!

thali went away today. at first i thought martin would stay home and keep me company, but then he left too... i am a bit lonely all by myself. thali and i made a deal though - since she doesn't feel too good, she doesn't think that she will be able to do all the fighting alone while we are out walking, so i agreed that she could do most of the fighting, but i would help her out. so when we go out, i always look around to see if there is any trouble coming and bark at the other dogs to warn them to keep away from us. i think that thali is happy with that. i am also going to make sure that when she wants to walk slow, i will walk slow too, so that i am just like her.

last week, when mel went to pick up thali, she told me that she was going to bring me a present home - something apart from thali! i was very excited and could barely wait - it seemed to take forever for her to get home. when she did get home, i was so excited to see thali that we ran around a lot and i forgot about the present! but, then we went inside and mel reminded me and gave me a schnappy crocodile that squeaks - well - it doesn't squeak any more - i fixed that! i love my schnappy and i take him everywhere in the house with me. i tried to take him out the back and on a walk but mel told me that schnappy has to stay inside otherwise he might get lost. and i don't want that to happen! speaking of which, i wonder where schnappy is now...
